Congratulations on your wedding!
- At this time, please read this document and choose your pieces of music for each segment of your
wedding. - According to the Pastor’s directives, only sacred music can be used for your wedding; any secular
or “pop” songs cannot be implemented into your music plan. Exceptions can be made but must be
cleared with the Music Director. - All music will be played on St. Stephens’ organ or piano depending on which instrument is most
befitting to the specific piece of music. If you plan to provide your own vocalist (cantor) or
additional instrumentalists (trumpet, violin, etc.), please notify the Music Director immediately.
Payment for any extra musicians is the responsibility of the bride or family and not St. Stephen
Church. - If you have a specific sacred or classical piece in mind for any of the segments below, please provide
the title of the piece. - The suggested titles can be heard and sampled if you click the link or search the title in YouTube.

Parents Procession

*Some brides prefer to have the parents (1) and bridal party (2) enter to the same piece of continuous music. This is entirely your choice if you wish to have a continuous piece of music for (1) and (2) or if you wish to have separate pieces for (1) and (2). -

Sung after the Second Reading / before the Gospel. This is chosen by the Music Director, but if you have a specific setting you would like to have played and sung, please pass this information along.

Unity Candle Lighting
This is a very short segment during the wedding, and only requires thirty to forty-five seconds of music.
Whatever is chosen will need to be abridged so that music does not run too long.

Holy Family Prayer
If the couple chooses to spend time at the Holy Family statue in prayer and offer a bouquet of flowers to the Virgin Mary, a “Marian” song is what is placed here. “Ave Maria” by Schubert is the most-popular choice. A “Marian” hymn may also be used (Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above; Hail Mary, Gentle Woman)

After you have made your choices, please contact the Music Director immediately to finalize all specifics. It is best to have your music choices in place one month prior to your wedding.

Please deliver a personal check payable to “Patrick Sheehan” in the amount of $175.00.
