Inspired by the Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads men and women to join together and to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. Confidentiality and compassion are the cornerstones of our ministry.

If help is needed, please contact our parish office and ask for the St. Vincent de Paul hotline - Ext. 205. When you are connected to the voice mail box, please leave a message that includes your name and a phone number. Someone from the St. Vincent de Paul ministry will contact you. The return call will appear as a blocked number.

On the third weekend of each month, the St. Vincent de Paul ministry at St. Stephen holds a food drive. Items collected are distributed to the Tinley Park food pantry. Suggested items include pasta, pasta sauce, cereal, rice, canned soup, canned fruit and vegetables, tuna, peanut butter. Household and personal items are also needed.  They can include toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, toothbrushes deodorant and soap.  All non-perishable items are welcome.

Parishioners interested in making a financial contribution to the St. Vincent de Paul ministry can do so through the SVdP Black Collection Boxes located on the walls on either side of the Narthex. Online donations to St. Vincent de Paul are also accepted through Give Central.
 
Money collected is used to help parishioners and households in need when emergency situations arise. These include loss of income due to job loss, reduced hours, loss of a spouse, etc.
