Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. Eucharistic Ministers are asked to participate in a formation session in order to prepare for their ministry.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist is the formal title of laypeople who distribute the Eucharist during Mass. Training that is required by the Archdiocese, provides all those wishing to serve in this ministry sufficient spiritual, theological and practical preparation to fulfill their roles with knowledge and reverence. All ministers of Holy Communion should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated Body and Blood of Christ.
